What Premium Means Here

Premium is the easiest word to write on a label and the hardest to justify. On this page it means three things that can be checked: a tighter specification, a certified organic origin, and an outside verdict from competition juries who taste blind.

What it does not mean is a different process applied late. The oil is not corrected, blended up or refined — an unrefined oil is either good when it leaves the mill or it is not. Premium is decided in the grove and in the first hours after picking.

The Organic Premium Range

Organic Premium is the top of our three ranges. It is certified organic by CCPB srl (Italy), produced in limited quantity, and held to a free acidity ceiling of 0.2% — a third tighter than the 0.3% that already defines extra virgin.

The certificate covers the groves and the production chain and is supplied with the commercial offer. What we hold and what we do not is stated plainly on olive oil certifications — including ISO 22000, which is available on request for a project and is not a certification we hold.

Early Harvest

Picking early costs yield. The same tree gives less oil when the fruit is picked before full maturity, which is why most production waits. What early picking buys is the opposite of volume: more polyphenols, more aromatic intensity, lower acidity and a longer resistance to oxidation.

That trade-off is the whole economic argument of a premium range, and it is worth stating to a buyer rather than hiding behind adjectives. A United States International Olive Oil Competition jury awarded one of our oils a gold medal specifically for early harvest quality — an outside confirmation that the choice shows in the glass.

Speed matters as much as date. Olives go from the grove to the mill without an intervening delay, and extraction stays below 27 °C, mechanical and without solvent.

Evidence of Quality

The most useful opinion on an oil is one that was not paid for. CHEBLA oils have been awarded gold medals in international competitions since 2023, in Geneva, Riyadh, Oslo, Copenhagen, London and the United States, where panels taste blind and have no commercial relationship with the producer.

The full list, competition by competition and year by year, is on Tunisian olive oil awards. We keep it in one place deliberately, so the record stays a record rather than a slogan repeated across pages.

Alongside the medals sits the per-lot certificate of analysis, which is the evidence that matters commercially: see olive oil laboratory analysis.

Availability

Organic Premium is produced in limited quantity, and availability follows the season rather than a catalogue. It is supplied packed — glass at 250, 500 and 750 ml, metal tins at 1, 3 and 5 litres — and in bulk where the volume justifies it.

For own-brand premium ranges, the packaging and labelling side is on olive oil packaging solutions and the programme itself on private label olive oil.

Because the quantity is limited, early enquiry matters more than it does on our standard ranges: tell us the season you are planning for.
