Bulk Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Bulk extra virgin olive oil from Tunisia: lot analysis, free acidity below 0.3%, tanker and flexitank loading, export documentation.

  • Free acidity ≤ 0.3%
  • Analysis released before loading
  • Tanker, flexitank, drums or container
  • Certificate of analysis with the load

Extra Virgin in Bulk

Buying extra virgin in bulk is a different exercise from buying bottles. You are not choosing a product from a shelf — you are writing a specification, and the supplier either meets it on the lot they ship you or they do not.

CHEBLA supplies extra virgin olive oil in bulk to bottlers, blenders, distributors and food manufacturers. The oil is the same one we pack under our own label: mechanically cold extracted below 27 °C, unrefined, and analysed lot by lot in our laboratory before it is released.

This page covers what changes when the volume is large. The vessels themselves — tankers, flexitanks, drums, containers — are described on bulk Tunisian olive oil, and the grade in general on Tunisian extra virgin olive oil.

Lot Specification

A bulk offer should state what the oil is, not only what it costs. Ours carries:

ItemWhat we state
CategoryExtra virgin olive oil, unrefined
Free acidity≤ 0.3% as oleic acid
Peroxide valueMeasured value for the lot
UV absorptionK232 and K270, measured
SensoryPanel assessment, defect-free for the claim
Origin and varietiesTunisia — Chemlali, Chetoui, or a stated blend

Free acidity is the figure most often quoted and the most revealing: it reports how the fruit was handled between the tree and the mill, and no processing brings it back down. Our organic range is held tighter still, at ≤ 0.2% — see certified organic olive oil.

≤ 0.3% Free acidity ceiling

Analysis Before Loading

The sequence matters more than the promise. The lot is analysed in our laboratory, released on that result, and only then scheduled for loading. The certificate issued is the one for the lot being loaded — not a certificate from a previous production that happens to look similar.

For a buyer this has a concrete consequence: the figures you receive describe the oil in your tanker, and the lot number on the document matches the one in our records. If a question arises on arrival, it can be traced rather than argued.

The analyses themselves are on olive oil laboratory analysis, and the record chain on olive oil traceability.

Loading and Formats

Extra virgin travels in four ways, chosen with you according to volume, destination and how the oil is handled on arrival:

  • Stainless steel tanker — the reference for the largest lots; inert, fully cleanable, no residual taint between loads.
  • Flexitank — a full container load without tanker logistics; single use, so no contamination history, which matters for organic lots under audit.
  • Food-grade drums — smaller volumes, mixed loads, or a first test order before a market is proven. Metal also blocks light.
  • Container — standard or high-cube, carrying a flexitank, palletised drums, or bulk and packed goods together.

Whichever is chosen, light and heat remain the two enemies of an unrefined oil, in transit as much as in storage.

Ordering

To be quoted accurately, tell us four things: the volume, the destination port or country, the format you want to receive the oil in, and any specification your customer imposes — a tighter acidity, a variety, an organic requirement, a particular document.

Minimum quantities and delivery terms are quoted per project rather than published, because they depend on the season, the range and the route. We would rather give you a figure that holds than a headline that changes at contract stage.

Documentation by destination is detailed on Tunisian olive oil export.
